The primary purpose of the Junior Handicap is to provide runners with a measure of their fitness and motivation by comparing their time over the same course with that of previous months. It is also a simple, fun competition in which members of all abilities can compete equally with each other regardless of sex, age or running ability. It is open to all fully paid up junior members of the club aged over 8 on the day of the event.
The Handicap Run is not a race in the conventional sense. You don't have to be super fit or super fast to take part. We would like to encourage our junior club members to take part whether they are new to running or a seasoned athlete and not matter what their ability is.
The Junior Handicap will take place on the last Monday of each month from April to August with the September event earlier as the nights will be drawing in.
Arrival at Priory Park (Tony's Tree) at 6.30pm and collection at 7pm.
Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at the end of the season.
