Frostbite Series

By Karen Roper on Sep 20, 2017

Frostbite Series 2017 is fast approaching. The first race of the series is at Priory Park, St. Neots on Sunday 1st October. The Junior race starts at 10:15am and the Senior race starts at 11:00am. It's free to enter! You MUST wear a green and white Riverside Runners top to compete or you will be disqualified. To purchase a top, log onto the website, go to the Members tab and then Shop and scroll down.

As a club we would love to see and need many of you running but as we are hosting the first race we also need helpers for marshalling, tokens and water station. Please let me know if you can help.

In Sam's last newsletter you were given info on the Frostbite series but a brief recap for you...

It is a series of six "closed" running races for senior and junior runners from 16 local running clubs. The races are staged at monthly intervals on a Sunday morning during the winter months from October to March (hence Frostbite). The senior races are all around 5 miles and the junior races are less than 1.5 miles. The terrain is usually cross country.

Scoring is based on the finish position of each team's first 10 seniors to finish and first 5 juniors to finish with a trophies awarded to the winning, 2nd and 3rd place teams at the end of the series. The emphasis in these races is on participation and enjoyment of all runners and has a friendly rivalry between clubs.
