Summer Social Runs
19/07/2010

The Summer Social Runs series has begun.  These are held on alternate Wednesdays during the Summer.  They are leisurely social runs (definitely non-competitive) that usually have a 6 - 8 mile and a 4 or 5 mile option plus an approx 3 mile walk (all depending upon location suitability).  The events are always based from a pub with car parking and with decent snacks or dinners.  It is usual to try to gather around 18.30hrs to change, decide food arrangements and order, plus to get a briefing about the route all prior to a start at 18.45hrs.  These times do get adjusted sometimes to suit the particular needs of the location and event etc.

The Summer Social Runs are :

Wed 5 May 18.30hrs Royal Oak, Hail Weston - Norma
Wed 19 May 18.30hrs Duncombe Arms, Waresley - Ann & John Storey
Wed 2 June 18.30hrs The Black Bull, Brampton - Jo Owen & Dianne Prout
Wed 16 June 18.30hrs Rowing Club - Not Kenny's Relay
Wed 30 June 18.30hrs Anchor, Gt Barford - Mark & Michala Forster
Wed 14 July 18.30hrs Wimpole - Steph Williams
Wed 28 July 18.30hrs Royal Oak, Hail Weston - James Bolm
Wed 11 Aug 18.30hrs TBA - Ruth & Liz

Wed 25 Aug 18.30hrs Mick & Barbara Reading - Axe & Compass, Hemingford Abbotts
Wed 8 Sept 18.30hrs TBA - Matt Pyecroft

Further details of the events are recorded in the document library.

Riverside Runners Championship 2010
30/06/2010
We are now over half way through the Riverside Runners Championship and a record of the latest provisional scores for all entrants is published on the website in the document library. If you have run in a road race for Riverside Runners this year and posted your results on this website, you are included.

The championship recognises the best overall club performer taking into account their performance in a maximum of ten races over the year, based on a variety of factors including their age, the amount of miles they ran in each race, the variety of different distances they have covered and how much improvement has been made on personal best times.

At the end of the year the person with the most points based on their best races up to a maximum of ten races, will win the championship.  There will also be awards for the best runners in each age category.

The latest results show all the races you have entered this year that qualify for the Championship, with your scores. There is also a separate ‘Rankings’ document showing the cumulative scores for each runner.

Don’t be concerned if you are not shown in the top ten of the ‘Rankings’ as there are still plenty of time for you to enter races and increase your points. Also, remember that those people who have ran more than 10 races already, will only receive scores for their best 10 races at the end of the year.

For details of how the rules operate please click ‘Document Library’ on the left hand side.
